BRUCE CORNELIUS
Bruce Cornelius has been appointed as the new Coach of Belfast Harlequins RFC for season coming: 2008/'09. Bruce has been Head of Rugby at Northumbria University in Newcastle from 2005 to 2008. He was Head Coach at Instonians in 2001-'05. In the Ulster Summer of 2003 he coached at Shirley Rugby Club in New Zealand. Bruce taught Physical Education in Friend's School Lisburn in 2002-'03 and in Wellington College, Carolan Road, Belfast in 2004-'05 (where (as proven by Google) he received rave notices from his female pupils.)
Previously he played for Manawatu, New Zealand from 1991 to 1993 and for Ulster from 1994 to 1995. He is tall with long arms and has clearly played in the lock position. The fact that he played for Instonians from 1990 to 1999 is interesting, and looking forward to our away AIB AIL II fixture v Instonians (whose Assistant Coach is a former Belfast Harlequin (Niall Malone), will add a little spice!
And Bruce could come off the bench if required...
Welcome to Deramore Park, Bruce and good luck.
